Why Structural Chiropractic?

You are in for a rare treat when you schedule a complimentary consultation with Clearview Family Chiropractic; you will actually sit down for a consultation with Dr Doug.

At Clearview Family Chiro, a consultation is a conversation, not an examination and certainly not a high-pressure sales pitch which is common in the Chiropractic profession.

When you visit you office, two important things will happen:

  1. We will get to know you
  2. You will get to know Clearview Family Chiropractic, and how we may be able to help you achieve better health.

We will provide you with an overview of Chiropractic, and then explain how our focus on structural correction is quite different than traditional chiropractic. Most importantly, we will determine if this can be the solution you’ve been searching for to help you achieve optimal health:

Following your consultation with Dr. Doug you are more than welcome to proceed on that day, or on a future date with a complete Patient History, followed by a structural chiropractic examination which will include:

  • Digital structural image analysis
  • Laser Thermographic Nerve Scan
  • Three dimensional structural radiographs (if necessary)

Once again, there is no charge for our consultations, and there will be no high-pressure sales gimmicks. They cramp our style.

Structural Chiropractic Vs. Traditional Chiropractic

Structural Chiropractic Vs. Traditional Chiropractic

Have you ever wondered why some chiropractors have completely different approaches, and let’s be honest, completely different results?

Let me explain the difference between Structural Chiropractic and Traditional Chiropractic and perhaps it will shine some light on it.

Traditional Chiropractors

Traditional Chiropractors focus on goals like the following:

  • decreasing muscular spasms
  • increasing range of motion
  • reducing pain.

This is how most Chiropractors practice, and I believe most of them are great at what they do, however that falls under the umbrella of symptom relief/management.

Structural Chiropractors are different.

Structural Chiropractic

Here at Clearview Family Chiro we think of your spine structurally.

If I can use a simple analogy to explain; think of your spine kind of like the foundation of a building. If the foundation is off, you would expect the floors to creak, the windows to get stuck and the walls would eventually start to crack right? Now you could spend a lot of time patching and repairing all the damage, but you would be doing so with the expectations that this is a short term fixes that you will have to do over and over again or you should because these are just secondary issues, and you are not fixing the primary cause of the condition (the foundation).

Far too often we see this in the realm of Chiropractic care where people just go in for a “quick fix” and suddenly instead of achieving true correction, we are relying on chiropractic like a natural (and sometimes expensive) aspirin.

Get Back to Normal!

Rather than constantly repairing the damage, here at Clearview Family Chiropractic, we have chosen to fix the underlying “foundation” and help your spine regain it normal structure.

Of course our services are not for everyone. However, if you are tired of constantly patching your problems and you are looking for a long term solution that you can both feel and see for yourself, then Clearview Family Chiro could just be the right place.  Once we have corrected your foundation we will then teach you how to maintain it through customized recommendations designed specifically for your spine, to ensure the problem does not come back.

The Last Step

The last step: Initiate care and start on your path to reaching your True health potential! Congratulations on taking the first necessary steps to creating true wellness, and remember your health outcomes are based on your health choices!

What to expect on your 2nd appointment

2nd Appointment: Your “Report of Findings” will be the most important appointment with Dr. Doug, because this is when he will take the time to educate you about your examination findings, while teaching you about your X-rays and what they should and should not look like. He will also educate you some of the top leading Diseases and how you and your family can avoid them.  Then if care is recommended he will go over a detailed explanation of his care recommendations as well as the necessary steps you would need to take to correct your problem.  Then he will review your financial situation, insurance coverage and how we work with people that have limited insurance coverage or no coverage to make care affordable.

What to expect on your 1st Appointment

1st Appointment:  During your 1st visit at Clearview Family Chiropractic you will be asked to fill out the necessary new patient application forms as completely as possible, this gives Dr. Doug the most updated information to determine the cause of the condition in which you have come it to get corrected. He will then take you back for a one-on-one consultation to discuss in more detail your current health issues and goals, as well as uncover the layers of past damage done and its associated cause .  A comprehensive chiropractic examination and evaluation including all of the test necessary will be performed to further help determine the precise cause of your problem.

The Physical Exam: What to expect.
You will first be asked to do a series of activities and exercises, which will provide information about your balance, gait, and motor skills. These tests help determine your range of motion, muscle tone and strength, and nervous system integrity.  Any abnormalities found could provide the Doctor with clues about your condition. For example you may be asked to:

  • Bend forward, sideways, or backwards – The reason for this is a misaligned spinal vertebra can sometimes be detected during this exercise.
  • Stand or sit – Your posture can sometimes show whether you have misalignments in your spine.
  • Walk a straight line – By measuring your gait, the Doctor can determine if you have a normal walking pattern.
  • Walk in place – Abnormalities in the way your pelvis and spine coordinate can be seen during this test.
  • Postural Evaluation
  • Full Spine Thermal Scan

Next, a short physical exam by the chiropractor will involve palpation, or use of the hands, to evaluate the alignment of your spine, as well as provide information on any stimuli that may cause pain. At which point Dr. Doug will advise you of any recommended laboratory tests, Nerve System functional Exams or X-rays that may be necessary.

Once  your New Patient consultation and exams are complete you will be asked to schedule a follow-up appointment for you and your spouse or significant other called the “Report of Findings” at which time the cause of your current condition will be discussed. After reviewing your case, the doctor will decide if you will be accepted as a patient, he will also go through a thorough explanation of care recommendations and the necessary action steps needed to obtain your desired results.
